Leveraging Influencers to Increase Brand Awareness

The Project

The Kroger Co. (Kroger) regularly engages local and regional bloggers and influencers as partners to feature in-store and online products and seasonal promotions. The goal of the partnerships is to provide ongoing brand awareness while leveraging key influencers to highlight new products and position Kroger as the food authority in Columbus.

Inspire works with Kroger to develop relevant partnership opportunities, pitch local bloggers and influencers, create and utilize contracts and provide analytics reports. As a result, Kroger has partnered with more than 20 local and regional bloggers and influencers to successfully raise brand awareness and increase in-store and online sales.

The Results

  • The bloggers and influencers, including Where Your Heart is Now, Eat Play Cbus and Crave Columbus, shared photos of their experiences and promotions on social media, including on Pinterest, Facebook, Twitter, TikTok and Instagram, including Instagram Stories and Instagram Reels.
  • Several of the bloggers also shared more about their partnership in posts on their sites, incorporating additional information about Kroger products and promotions, cooking and nutrition and step-by-step how-to instructions for recipes.
  • Each blogger was also given a $25 Kroger gift card to give away on their posts, which helped to drive additional interest and overall engagement.
  • The posts shared by the bloggers and influencers have received nearly 10,000 engagements by more than 250,000 online users at approximately a 4% engagement rate, which is well above the industry average.
