Generating Awareness for a New Market Restaurant Launch

The Project

To generate awareness about ROOH’s Columbus opening as well as their hiring efforts, Inspire developed a media, blogger and community stakeholder engagement strategy, which included the coordination of a media preview dinner and a pre-opening VIP event. The media preview dinner gave key media in the food and restaurant industry a behind-the-scenes look at ROOH before it was open to the public. It was also an opportunity for the media to meet and interview ROOH’s ownership team and hear from ROOH’s executive chef about the detail and care that goes into crafting each dish and cocktail.

Inspire also helped coordinate all invites and outreach to bloggers and business and community leaders for a pre-opening VIP event where invitees could get a sneak peek of the restaurant. Additionally, Inspire implemented a comprehensive earned media strategy in advance of the opening and handled all media and blogger inquiries.

The Results

Several prominent reporters, photographers and bloggers in the Columbus market attended the pre-opening events resulting in positive coverage for ROOH in the weeks leading up to and after the opening. Inspire’s pitching efforts and strong relationships with the media led to 17 total placements in outlets such as Yahoo! News, Columbus Business First, Columbus Dispatch, Columbus Underground and others. These placements totaled more than 670k impressions.

Sixteen bloggers attended the VIP event and shared roughly 114 posts and stories on social media during and after the event.
