North American Veterinary Community (NAVC)

Providing Media Relations Support for the Veterinary Meeting & Expo (VMX)

The Project

In early 2024, Inspire had the honor of assisting the North American Veterinary Community (NAVC) at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando. NAVC, renowned for providing top-tier veterinary education, is committed to equipping professionals with vital resources and training to stay updated on advancements in animal medicine. Our primary objective was to increase media participation and coverage of the Veterinary Meeting & Expo (VMX), the world’s largest veterinary conference and the leading provider of veterinary continuing education.

Our team began by designing a comprehensive communication strategy encompassing a strong media relations plan featuring deliberate brand messaging, an editorial calendar, a timeline, and measurable indicators for ROI and success. Additionally, we aimed to position NAVC as a leader in the veterinary industry and gain media coverage to showcase the latest advancements in veterinary medicine at VMX, designing a comprehensive media program that aimed to elevate the conference to the “Consumer Electronics Show of Veterinary Medicine.”

Targeted members of the local, national and trade press were engaged and encouraged to attend the conference. Our on-site presence included networking with journalists, facilitating meetings and interviews, showcasing expo booths, managing press studio schedules and staffing the press room. News releases and media advisories were developed, highlighting key events and sessions at VMX, covering topics such as popular pets, veterinary trends, AI advancements, and community outreach initiatives.

Furthermore, we closely monitored news updates and tracked media placements to produce a comprehensive report highlighting the extensive coverage of VMX 2024. Establishing robust relationships with journalists was a key component of our strategy, allowing us to utilize these connections for continued post-conference coverage of NAVC's programs and services. By doing so, Inspire successfully achieved its goals of reaching targeted audiences and emphasizing the importance of veterinary health.
