Katie Boyer is an account supervisor at Inspire. With over a decade of communications experience, Katie is an expert in media relations, social media, crisis management, and internal and external communications strategy. Her unique background in news and both the public and private sectors brings a wealth of knowledge on how to handle a wide range of communications opportunities.
As a former TV news producer, Katie knows how to find the relevant angle within a pitch that will interest reporters. Her experience in the newsroom also gives her a unique perspective that she can draw upon when building relationships with key storytellers nationwide.
Before coming to Inspire, Katie served as the public information officer for the Ohio Department of Agriculture, where she promoted the Department’s 18 divisions. She also created and produced Cultivating Convos, the Department’s podcast, and helped to launch the Ohio Victory Gardens project. She has also worked as a communications specialist for commercial real estate brokerage firm CBRE, and prior to that was a producer on the morning show at WBNS 10TV.
Katie is a graduate of Ohio University’s E.W. Scripps School of Journalism, with a bachelor’s degree in broadcast journalism. She lives in Merion Village with her husband, daughter and two rescue dogs. When she’s not working, she can usually be found visiting one of the Columbus Metro Parks with her family or having a drink with friends on one of the many beautiful patios around town.
What Inspires Me?
My family is what drives me to make sure I’m consistently doing good for others. I love when a project I’m working on makes a positive change, and it’s even better when that change ensures that I’m leaving the world a better place for my daughter and my nieces and nephews.
