Becca Thomas
As a Director for Inspire, Becca Thomas brings nearly two decades of experience in public relations and marketing, strategic and crisis communications and thought leadership to her role in counseling Inspire clients.
Becca most recently served as the Managing Director of Communications for Groundwork Ohio, a statewide nonpartisan and advocacy non-profit focused on supporting public investment in Ohio’s children ages 0-5. In this role, she played to her strengths and passions of storytelling and relationship-building by connecting families and their experiences with state policymakers, lifting up community partners through social media and traditional media outreach, and providing support for statewide advocacy outreach.
In addition, Becca served as the Director of Communications for The Wexner Foundation, a philanthropic organization that focuses on developing Jewish professional and volunteer leaders in North America and public leaders in Israel. There she amplified the work and provided support for the more than 3,000 Fellows associated with the Foundation’s leadership programs, directed the foundation’s media relations outreach, and led a comprehensive website and database redesign.
Prior to that, Becca served as the Director of Communications for Susan G. Komen Columbus, creating the breast cancer non-profit’s social media channels, coordinating extensive media relations in the Central Ohio community, and providing opportunities to connect breast cancer survivors with each other, volunteers, and donors. She also served as the Director of Events and oversaw the Affiliate’s 45,000+ person Race for the Cure® and other Affiliate events, bringing in more than $2 million annually.
Becca’s career began with the public relations and public affairs firm Paul Werth Associates, and continues to be focused on community building, impactful work, and high-level media relations outreach.
Becca earned a degree in Journalism with a concentration in Public Relations and Spanish from the E.W. Scripps School of Journalism at Ohio University. Passionate about giving back to the community, Becca serves on the Board of Directors for Syntero Inc., volunteers with her synagogue and served on the DEI Committee for Worthington Hills Elementary. Becca can often be found exploring new hiking trails with her family.
